HZ Info, Recently, Nippon Paint China successfully won the bid for the China Mobile (Zhongwei, Ningxia) Data Center project. As one of the important computing hubs in the “East Data, West Computing” initiative, the project is expanding its cluster scale. Nippon will provide integrated wall-and-floor professional coating solutions for its equipment rooms, core data-control areas, and exterior walls, covering key requirements such as anti-static performance, flame retardancy, and energy efficiency, and helping the data center operate safely, efficiently, and greenly.

As important computing infrastructure, data centers have strict requirements for architectural coating quality and operational stability.
Data centers often house high-density server equipment indoors, and environment requirements for anti-static performance, fire resistance, and other factors are far higher than those of conventional industrial scenarios. These properties directly affect the stable operation of servers. Zhongwei is located on the edge of a desert, with strong sunlight and large day-night temperature differences, which means the project must not only meet safety requirements inside equipment rooms but also withstand the test of exterior wall weather resistance. Therefore, Nippon Paint provides targeted coating solutions based on the operational needs of different areas: in the core data-control areas, the floors use Nippon Paint’s waterborne epoxy anti-static flooring system, which allows gradual and controllable electrostatic discharge and prevents charge accumulation from affecting equipment operation; in the core areas and equipment room walls, Nippon Paint’s interior inorganic coating is used, achieving Class A flame retardancy and enhancing the fire safety and security performance of the data center’s interior spaces. In response to Zhongwei’s frequent sandstorms and dust-prone climate, the project’s exterior walls will use Nippon Paint’s integrated exterior wall insulation and decoration panels. While providing thermal insulation and reducing building energy consumption, prefabricated construction can shorten the construction period by about one-third compared with traditional construction methods, supporting the project’s efficient completion.

Nippon Paint continues to support the construction of projects such as the BDC MY07 Data Center in Malaysia.
With the accelerated development of artificial intelligence, cloud computing, and other industries, building materials are becoming an important link in ensuring the high-standard construction and operation of emerging industry facilities. The Zhongwei data center project is another important project in Nippon Paint’s continued expansion into data center sub-scenarios. To date, Nippon Paint has successively participated in domestic and overseas projects such as a data center in Ulanqab, Inner Mongolia; the BDC Qinhuai Data Center in Chonburi, Thailand; and the BDCMY07 Data Center in Malaysia.
